Duplicate Categories for Magento 2
Installation
The extension has 2 separate ways of installation, via Composer or by copying the code.
Please follow this Installation Guide to install the extension.
Duplicate Category
To duplicate a category, log into the Magento back-end and go to CATALOG ⟶ Catalog ⟶ Categories
Select the category you want to duplicate then click the ‘Duplicate Category’ button to duplicate the selected category
Duplicate Category Options
Select the parent category - choose the parent category for the duplicate
SetInclude subcategories - to "Yes", to include subcategories during the duplication. The duplicate category will inherit subcategories from the original category
SetInclude product relations - to "Yes", to include product relations during the duplication. The duplicate category will inherit product relations from the original category
Search and Replace
You can make replacements of the following category fields ONLY: "description", "meta keywords", "meta description"
Words from ‘Search Text’ fields will be replaced with content from ‘Replace With’ field. Leave empty if you do not need to search and replace text.
Click the Duplicate button and confirm the duplication.
The category will be duplicated and a success message will display . You can rename the duplicate category manually
Frontend View
The duplicated category will appear in frontend, make sure to re-index data and clear caches before checking on the frontend
